A (simplified) practical application of APT

A Jack and Jill Story . . .

Gordon then used a diagram like the one shown here to explain how the PSP system works.

He commented, "for each sub-plan that we are going to detail, we only need to provide three simple pieces of information.

One: We need to briefly describe the sub-plan's PURPOSE i.e. what you want this specific sub-plan to achieve.

Two: We then need to briefly describe the STRATEGY or action STEPS that will be
needed (to achieve the purpose).

Three: Finally, we need to indicate the PERSON who will be responsible and accountable for the strategy or action steps".

In this third process, we prioritise the Plan Chart, and then use the PSP procedure to briefly detail the sub-plan boxes.

1. A brief description of the plan's Purpose -- 'What' needs to be achieved.

2. A brief description of the Strategy (or action Steps) that will be used (method, means, $, timeframes etc).

3. The name of the Person who will be responsible and accountable.
